
I didn’t take this photo. It was taken in McIntosh County, Oklahoma around 1939. This scene, however, has taken place a myriad of times in a multitude of places.
I wish, as adults, we could sleep like children: the kind of sleep so deep that if someone picked you up and moved you to the other room, you wouldn’t wake.
I believe we don’t get enough sleep. I believe that over the past 30+ years, we have convinced people that to work more and sleep less is the way of success. I don’t think it matters when you sleep, just that you do longer or more often. Still, we are a bunch of sleep deprived beings trying to accomplish something and the majority of us continue all day/everyday to make poor decisions with groggy heads.
If you left your car running all the time, you reckon it’d wear out sooner? Yeah. That’s why I’m going to nap.
The amount of sleep required by the average person is five minutes more. ~Wilson Mizener
