Holy moly! (again.. I really need a new phrase) Life is full! My cup runneth over! ..all that shit. I got busy there for a few days and didn’t get much exercise in and I felt it! Kelly arrived on Saturday and we had a great, but full, weekend. Getting her settled in has taken some of my time and just plain being together was much more important than any damn exercise!
I actually missed that feeling I get after going to the track every morning. Every day I go there I feel a little bit lighter when I leave. Maybe it’s the sweat I leave on the track, maybe there is just a lilt in my step that I get after my muscles actually have blood rushing through them.
I imagine it similarly to when you are really thirsty..nearly dehydrated even..and get to drink something that quenches your thirst. How great does that taste/feel? That’s what I imagine my muscles feel when I actually use them; sweet relief! (muscles: “w00t! she’s actually going to get the blood flowing over this way. Finally!”)
I also find that I am thinking better. The blood is flowing to my brainage region and what-do-you-know, it seems to work better too. Lighter. Less stress. Better thoughts. Who knew?
