111 Days to go.
I did not a damn thing (exercising) this weekend. I have an excuse… a note from my feminine side, as it were. Add in terrific cramps and you get the picture. I never use ‘that time of the month’ as an excuse for anything; if I’m going to be snarky, I’m just going to be snarky, I don’t need an excuse. I try not to be that way ever anyway. So there there’s that.
Today, I am off to the track to get in a couple of miles of walk/run. I can’t run the entire thing… that is a goal, however. I’m just too out of shape. I have a few dogs to walk today and will get in some kind of yoga routine. I have several places (some online, some not) I like to use for yoga. I don’t have any DVDs I use. I really hate that people think you must purchase ‘things’ to accomplish a goal like this. I realize that its a billion dollar industry that banks on such people, but I ain’t one of them.
I did purchase a giant ball thing to sit on at the computer rather than a chair; makes me work my core muscles all the time while sitting here working. You know those balls they use at the gym for stretching and balance.. yeah, one of those. It actually gets used quite a bit around here and not just for sitting on. We both use it to stretch. Was a recommendation from my friend Robin.
I think yoga is imperative, however, even if you cannot get yourself in the position, you can half-ass it and still get the effect. Stretching is paramount, imo. Keeping muscle and ligaments in good condition is what keeps us from injury.
We will talk about food another time, for now, get off your ass and start moving. That’s really all it takes. Your body might freak out at first, but given enough time, it will calm down and let go of that fat it has become so accustomed to. …it better!
