Grown-ups have ruined Saturday morning. The cartoons suck…what cartoons there are. Does there have to be a moral for everything our kids watch?

When I was a kid, I watched Bugs Bunny always win; fooling and inflicting serious injury on Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam and the only lesson I learned was not to ever play ‘All Those Endearing Young Charms’ on the piano, or at least play it badly. I watched as Wile E. Coyote got pummeled over and over and all I know for certain is to never buy anything from Acme; all their products are defective. I watched the Three Stooges poke and trip and call each other names, did I turn out so bad? Have I ever poked, or tripped or called you a name?

I believe parents have become so lax (or in fact don’t have a damn clue how to be a parent) that there is actually a need for the lousy, moralistic programming that we subject our kids to now. Instead of allowing creativity, fun and pure silliness, we have made everything a lesson with some hope that when they become adults they will turn out okay.

We have and are raising the un-creative, slack-thinkers that are the next (and current) leaders of the world.

Ain’t that a shame?
