WARNING: This is completely about sports. If you are not a fan, please find something else to read and do not complain about it. Life goes on.

I have many thoughts about the state of things happening right now in the sporting world. The fact that USC may have to forfeit championships (which I think is bullshit.. if anything, it should be future sanctions instead) or that the Phillies are being accused of cheating (who isn’t) and thrown a bone (like they need it), are only a couple things on my mind.

If you really knew how much sports I watch/pay attention to, you’d be amazed. I’ll do my best to get some decent blog posts going over on 93639sports. I’ve been ill this week and we are moving this weekend and life still must go on. No excuses, I’ll definitely be more diligent.

But I do have some questions:

If sport is defined as “an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.” and game is defined as “a competitive activity involving skill, chance, or endurance on the part of two or more persons who play according to a set of rules, usually for their own amusement or for that of spectators” why do we use them interchangeably? Do we merely blur the line for profit? so we can watch Poker on ESPN? (which I like to do on occasion. I also watch Billiards and Bowling, but I’m strange.) Do you watch mostly only sports or do you watch games too? Is one more interesting to you than others? Are some things we watch merely competitions and not really sports? What about horse racing? deep sea fishing? rodeo? What about ultimate fighting…is there any skill in that or is it just an all out Saturday night brawl brought indoors for our entertainment?

G’head. You can tell me what you’re thinking. I’m all ears.
