Sometimes you can read something or hear something that changes the way you see your life. Over the years, I have read several books that have done that for me.

Music has always reminded me of times in my life, but rarely are the lyrics more than a caption to a specific place or event if they give additional meaning at all. Perhaps it was a song playing at the time something else was happening that makes that song have meaning.

Eleven years ago, I was mom to three kids in Alabama. That’s all I thought I was. I didn’t feel like I was much then.

I’m still a mom to three kids, but I don’t live the life I lived then. In fact, if I put myself where I was back then, I couldn’t conceive of the life I have now; it wouldn’t even be on the radar.

I remember the first time I heard this song, eleven years ago, I had to hear it again..and again..and again. I listened to it over and over until my soul heard it and understood what my heart was feeling and what my mind knew. My kids learned it too. Driving down the road, we’d sing it at the top of our lungs as if we wanted to world to understand that we got it.
