The more you try to control people (through legislation) the less control you have. To use a metaphor within a metaphor, you remember Tommy Callahan? His main objective was to make the sale (where he thought he lacked control). But by trying to control it, he killed it.

You political candidates are killing us. Stop it, would ya?

We the people are fully capable of knowing the difference between bullshit and fertilizer. Don’t bypass the growing of something palatable by directly feeding us crap and expecting us to be satisfied.
